Eastmoor Dragons and Walton Warriors played out their Unison Cup round one tie at Woodhouse Road under floodlights and the two sides produced a belter of a game which entertained the sizeable crowd throughout.
Dragons hit the front within five minutes through a Josh Harkin try which Sam Littlewood converted for a 6-0 lead.
Warriors hit back shortly after and a try from Mikey Jubb - who got on the end of a great move to score wide out - took the scores to 6-4.
Eastmoor were next on the sheet and again it was Harkin who came up with a try, which again was supplemented by Littlewood to stretch the Dragons' advantage to 12-4.
Warriors however came back strongly scoring a try from Scott Crosley and a goal from James Watson, put them right back in the game at 12- 10.
A try each with Kyle Wharton crossing for the Dragons and Danny Taylor scoring for the Warriors, took the teams in at half time with Eastmoor leading by 16-14.
The second half was much of the same with Nicky Sykes scoring a try for the Dragons, this was cancelled out when Paul Chivers went over for Walton. The tie was finally sealed with Harkin going in to complete his hat trick, wrapping up the scoring, giving the final verdict to Eastmoor by 24-18.
The victory puts Eastmoor into a home semi final against Crigglestone All Blacks with the date yet to be confirmed.
Speaking after the game Walton's coach Paul Jackson, congratulated both sides saying, "The two sides put on a brilliant spectacle, it was a quality game. I think my the lads enjoyed playing under lights, I certainly did." He went on "I think that we can put this down as a game that we let slip through our fingers. A couple of lapses in concentration, cost us a couple of trys, but we'll learn from that."
Paul ended by saying, "It was a great evening enjoyed by all and well done to Eastmoor, they won well. We wish them all the best in the future rounds of the cup."
